Is there a digital ac/heater/fan control unit that would replace the three dial one in my 2002 Silvy? I would think(but not knowing) there was an option that would plug into the same wiring harness and the diference would be contained in the unit itself along with the sensor for the climate control.:dunno:

Thanks in advance

The sensor for the auto climate control is in the roof, IIRC.

The makes sense.

Any idea if everything else is in the same wiring harness and I would just need to add a sensor?:dunno: and am I looking at 2002 Silvys for the module unit and sensor or another year/model?

The 99-02 didn't have a digital hvac control available, there was an automatic three knob system though. There were quite a few electrical changes for 03, I bet a new wire harness was included making anything 03 and newer incompatible with the earlier models.

Was digital optional for your 2002???
If so, the wiring is "PROBABLY" already there...
You may have to take it to someone with a TECH 2 to program the Body Control Module and tell it you have digital AC... not sure about that.

That's what I WAS hoping for Jim, BUT from what bots is saying I am most likely Fwonked on that. I will continue to look into this for a feasable solution. Good possible heads up on the reprogramming thanks.

Did the '02 Escalade have digital controls??? :dunno:

If so, you could probably find one in the wrecking yard.
If you fo go that route... be sure to get the VIN NUMBER from the vehicle you take it off of....
If it needs to be re-programmed... you will need the VIN to put into the TECH 2.

All of the pre-03 GMT-800s (including the Denali and Escalade) used this three-knob setup for the auto climate control

The vehicles with auto climate control had a different ambient light sensor and a small fan in the headliner above the driver as well.
