Why am I not surprised. Somebody else on here got a remote start installed at BestBuy and it was draining his battery because the radio would not shut off. The installers didnt even know how to fix it. I explained step by step what needed to be corrected, and he had to explain that to the installer to get it fixed. :rollin:

Re: Dash install/removal UPDATE

Finally I have time to post the latest pics. Things have been kind of hectic around here the last few days. It may seem like I skipped a few steps however I really didn't it’s just the pictures were blurry because the auto focus was off. But the ones that are here are good so enjoy.

I cleaned up some of the wiring on the original harness I guess electrical tape doesn’t hold so well after 17 years

After first coat. It may be hard to see in the picture but the paint or should I say the guy spraying the paint didn't think about even lighting in the shop. I had some high spots and what appeared to be overspray in certain parts (top of picture).

I then took the dash outside in the sunlight and tried to touch it up with more paint. This appeared to do quite well. However once I got it installed I could see more spots at different angles. But not all was lost I was able to save it by using some of that 91% rubbing alcohol I bought. Since it removes the paint slowly I took my time and was able to get a lot of it out and looking good. Still need to touch up a few areas close to the glass but all in all it turned out well.

INTALLED! :wookie:

Here to can see some more spots but I they will clean up ok. The middle of the dash in the center of the picture has been cleaned up a bit with alcohol.

Stopping point on Wednesday. Right after these next two pics were taken I plugged in the Ign switch and fired it up for the first time since a started this project.

Nice work. I hope you put a new brake switch in while you were at it!
