Re: Dash install/removal **Update**
Ok so here is the short version of a long story. I wasn't going to have time to go to Sherwin Williams today
so i decided to call them. The guy I talked to didn't have a clue what SEM was (Go Figure). He gave me the
number to the automotive store in Fort Worth. I called them, they don't stock it but can order it for the low price of $25 PER CAN!
Ended up calling good old Oriellys who didn't have it either BUT did have it at the
warehouse in OKC. No shipping charge $12.99+tax a can so i ordered 2 they'll be here hopefully on saturday.
In other news i got some of the parts painted and cleared today. The first pics are the "base coat" primer to prevent rusting
after sand blasting untill i had more time for them. Two coats primer+2 coats color (Flat black)+ two coats clear. I know they
will never be seen unless one goes dash diving be hey I dont want them rusting up again.
Here are the pics I've taken. Most are from today.
New dash all cleaned up. Gave it a good scrubbing with dawn and water. Most of the "Damage" are minor
scuffs barly visable in the photos but can easily be covered up by the paint. Color here looks just like the
lighter grey color on BHB's dash after painting.
Which raises the question.
Do I "touch up" the bad spots or paint the whole dash? Cuz it dosen't really look all that bad except for the black marks.
These are just surface paint scratched off. No depth.
This picture shows what i was thinking for assembly. The holes are what mounts the dash to the support bars
being painted. There were rivits from the factory there that i had to drill out to get it apart. Would it be ok to
use bolts with lock washers? Or should i use rivits again due to clearances?
Parts drying after paint and clear. (I know its Exciting

)
