Where would you get a spare? And how much are they? How hard are they to swap out?

The tuner saved the tune, so that's not an issue, getting there is the problem.

I wonder if it's possible updating the PCM just aded new updates and left the old tune alone? Guess I will find out when I pick it up after work. I'll make sure I make my displeasure known, after I explicitly told him NOT to touch the PCM. Not happy they couldn't recreate the banging reverse problem either.

I don't think that is how it works but I am no GM tech. :dunno:

Spare PCM baby! I am on the way to my stealership right now for new weather stripping and an XM complaint. I will put the PCM in no matter what, just in case they try to update something.

My understanding is that if they updated your PCM, then your old tune is gone. I'm sure they wrote over everything when it was updated. You will definitely notice a difference but I doubt it will be as drastic as you may think.

As far as cost, Justin or Jenna will hook you up with a fair price. I want to say I paid around $175 or $200 for a spare PCM and TCM but that is a pure guess. It was 2 years ago so I really dont' remember. Be sure to get both modules though.

It takes 10 minutes tops to swap them out. Its very easy.

I just PM'd BBP, they are doing tunes in Bridgewater, 30 minutes from me this weekend, this might be good timing on my part. :tmc: Just hate to pay for another tune since the first one was $295, but driving 90 minutes down there is a hassle. Thanks for the recommendation.
