UMBERTO de magnifico
Dropped my truck off for the issue of it slamming into gear (in reverse) and a check engine light, and a stupid recall I've been meaning to bring it on for.
I specifically told this jackass DO NOT DO ANYTHING to the PCM since I had a custom tune.
Tells me, well the driveshaft isn't covered under warranty, you're at 4 years and 32,000 miles. This is a friend of my family mind you. I'm thinking hold up there jerky, the driveshaft is part of the drivetrain, which is part of the powertrain, or am I wrong? He then states "I'll see what I can do for you" oh what a guy.
Calls me today, can't find the issue, now there's a big surprise. I can get it to do it just about when I want. He told me the driveshaft was inspected, taken apart/removed and everything looked PERFECT, which is good because when this thing slams into gear I swear it sounds like I broke something or ran over a smart car. I'm sure it's still there, next time it happens I'm driving straight there and taking my buddy for a lil' test drive.
Check engine light was taken care of, was just a faulty solenoid, but what pissed me off and prompted me to make this thread was, when he told me he updated my PCM. WHAT?
You DUMBASS. Fack, now the tune is probably gone and the truck will drive like sh*t.
I guess this is one of the issues you encounter when you bring a modified truck to the stealership. I did have to go back to have the place that did my tune originally finally fix the ABS/Brake lights lighting up on my dash due to the tires size/gear ratio. I assume the truck without the tune will drive like garbage? Right, or will it just be a dog now?
I know before the tune and 35" tires the truck drove totally erratically, not to mention the speedo was like 40 mph off.
