Cross drilling rotors at home?

I bought Powerstop brand drilled and slotted rotors for my truck for $100 a pair shipped. That's about the same price as regular rotors from a local parts store. Bought mine from Brakemotive on eBay. I was slightly skeptical at first, but they have 100% positive reviews. I also searched on Google and found MANY positive reviews about them on other forums. That's what sealed the deal for me. I paired them with Wagner Thermoquiet Ceramic pads, and its a huge improvement in stopping versus the stock pads and rotors. I bought the same rotors for the wife's Altima, but I also got the Power stop pads. I am not too impressed with the pads. Well let me rephrase that. The pads are "OK", but not nearly as good as the Wagner Thermoquiets.

For the cost of all the equipment needed to PROPERLY drill your rotors, it would be cheaper to buy a set from Brakemotive.

When I need new ones I may revisit the idea.

I added drilled rotors to my 20 inch stingray bicycle when I was 8. First downhill run resulted in the brakes locking up and throwing me over a neighbor's house and into their pool with a naked sixteen year old cheerleader. It was traumatic.

I have carried a spare drilled rotor with me everywhere I go since.

Dimpled rotors are better so dirt/mud doesn't get stuck in there.

Nah, I am just going to use a 5.56. They travel so fast there will not be any cracking. Plus, I get a bonus dimple around the whole.
