There's nothing wrong with drilling your own rotors, these other guys are just warning you off because they are pansies and don't want to use a drill and countersink.
How do you think they get those holes in them in the first place? They weren't formed there from a mold, a machine drilled them out. It's just cast iron we're talking about here.

They also have super nice equipment and do it on a regular basis.

Have you ever really seen somebody perform this "mod"?
First I have seen.
If I sent all 4 of my rotors to a competent machinist, and had him perform this, I honestly don't think I would see a difference at the bottom of one of our monster mountains, even fully loaded.
