I think for the time being I am going to go with #2. I know, Im sorry to disappoint all of you 4ers but I think I should use the complete potential of my 5.3 right now, plus its already in my truck so I wouldn't have to deal with a motor swap. Im just going to get my truck ready for a TVS. Full bolt ons, plus FI cam, AFM delete kit, 14 bolt (possibly), FI converter, and FLT transmission. That should take long enough and drain my bank account.

Also, don't forget, that if it bolts to the 5.3, it should bolt to the 6.0... So... TVS the 5.3 until you can get a 6.0
Correct but the only thing different would be if I got LT headers I would go 1 3/4" for the 5.3 and for the 6.0 I would go 1 7/8".

Go 1 7/8" on the 5.3 as well... If your boosting... Your engine will thank you
Nah, with my little 5.3, im gonna stick with the 1 3/4". I think the 1 3/4" headers can support up to 650hp. I won't be pushing that.

Got it done yet? :jester:

Well I was just browsing car-part.com, by the way is a fawking great site, and came across a LY6 that came out of a chevrolet 2500 truck for $1650 with 42k on the clock. It says that it ran good. This is just an option and I am waiting to hear back more information from them about the specifics. This would be a good steal if it is in good condition.

Well I just got off the phone with the guy and he gave me some info about the truck and motor. They just got this truck about a month ago and dismantled it 2 weeks ago. The truck was hit in the passenger side of the rear cab and bed, so nothing wrong with the engine compartment. It ran and actually drove until they took it apart. It was a Heavy Load Trucking companies truck, and was used for misc things. It was totaled out because the company didn't want it to be a liability. It is listed for $1650, intake to pan, still has the coil packs and exhaust manifolds. I think I am going to take a look at it early next week. What do you guys think.

But for 1650 I could only get headers, and a cam package... and if I were to cam my 5.3 I would need to get a cam delete kit, which is $600. So either spend money on my 5.3, or start off with a 6.0 for pretty darn cheap and go the route Dans going with.

I guess I will have to go take a look at it sometime this week or early next week.

Would 42k be "adding" mileage to your truck, though?
