I was helping my friend put a new cd player in his 05 silverado with bose and onstar and he payed like $100 for this onstar/bose interface.. we got it all hooked up and it worked great until i cranked it up and the onstar came on then the speakers quit but the cd player still had power... its a scosche interface box but one of the plugs that came off of it had nowhere to plug, im sure it had something to do with the onstar. Does anybody have experience with this? Does he need to buy a additional wiring harness for the mystery plug?

BTW i dont understand these impossible GM trucks

Sent from my super slick HTC Thunderbolt.

The only adapter on Scosche's website that I can find, the GM09SR, does not support OnStar.

This is one reason I buy from Crutchfield. They have great customer support and tech support.

The only option is Google it and maybe someone else had the same problems.

Did you connect the chime module?

I think those On-Star compatible harnesses use the chime module speaker for On-Star...

I wish I could help, but I can't really help much not physically checking everything out. Every Scosche interface I have used has worked flawlessly. But I do find that the chime speaker is a bit annoyingly loud. An easy fix is to cover it with masking tape. That muffles the sound just a bit, and you can still hear it.
