I understand that Chevy sells more trucks than GMC but I have never for the life of me understood why they are so adamant about competing with themselves. If it were me I would scrap the whole Chevy line of trucks and SUV's and make GMC the GM line of trucks but obviously that wouldn't sit well with everyone. At the very least do something to differentiate between the two, like make GMC the work truck line directed at contractors and such and make Chevy the pleasure line with extra features and costs.

Well the GMC used to be the lower end trucks, but it has swung the other way. GMC has invested too much in the whole "Professional Grade" thing to let it go. I agree the whole competition with yourself thing it still ridiculous in my book. But if they drop one I would rather they drop Chevy because they are uglier than GMC's now.:uhoh:

GMC's have looked better than Chevy's since the 80's.
I don't know if I would give them that much credit. They really started looking better in the GMT800's but the 900's really made a big difference for GMC since even the sheetmetal is different in the way the wheels wells are molded. The GMC has a much softer look to it, Chevy looks like wheel wells on steroids. All lumpy and bowed out.:uhoh:

Back in the day, GMC used to be the work trucks. Plain and dependable, but not very pretty.
