Between the pics posted here and the TireRack website, it looks like Jen's truck has Bridgestone Dueler HT. TR reviews rate them fairly poor in snow, nearly the same as the Dueler HP on my wife's CR-V. I can confirm that there's a whole lot better tires out there for snow. Never stuck, but a whole lot of slipping and sliding in 4" or so of fresh falling snow before the plow trucks came out. Downhill braking was white-knuckle inspiring.

Go slow and easy, you should be alright. Start saving up for those Grapplers

Yeah, those are the ones we have on our new Acadia. It did fine this week when I was out in the deep stuff, not great but fine. Just take it easy, and things will be fine.

Probably, you'll be OK with just 4wd. Some areas may require chains, there must be a DOT website you can check? You can get a set of chains pretty cheap, couldn't hurt to have the extra insurance- they'll help in deep mud too. I'd give them a test fit in your warm dry driveway rather than learning how to do it on the side of the road in the snow :ohnoes:

My old Chevy was great in the snow (even better when I got the Snow rated tires) What kind of tires are on it now?

They are the factory tires that were on when I bought the truck. I am hoping I can get that extra money to have the Nitto's put on before my trip to Yosemite.

Better safe than sorry.
