I guess I've always misunderstood 1) the PTM Line-X and 2) the Line-X Xtra..

1) I thought the PTM / color-matched was IN the Line-X, not "we spray Line-X on and then we spray paint over it to make it match your truck.."

2) I thought the Xtra was "guaranteed" to not fade..?

:dunno:

That's what I thought too but they said that no matter what kind of Line-X you get it fades supposedly I personally think the dude didn't know what he was talking about. and PTM Line-X I thought was different but he kept calling it XTra. I don't like the idea of just throwing some paint pigment on top of it:dunce:

If they are just going to toss some paint on top of the LineX then I would just paint them and not shell out the extra for the line-x.

I think color matched line-x would look good for the boards, but not black line-x painted.

Can you find a different Line-x dealer?

Well I got quoted to do the Line-X on the Running Boards for $260 before tax OTD for $278:dunno: What do y'all think?

And just for shits and gigs I asked them how much to PTM my Door Handles they said it would be all labor, paint, tape etc... would be OTD $330. That was actually much cheaper than I thought. But I'm not gonna just jump on it either.

Definitely go for the running boards, will look and handle well.

As for the handles, f'k that, do it the way everyone else has been doing for $50, I plan to shortly, along with my mirror caps. I'm sure you are aware of it on the other site.

I talked to my the guy that did my bedliner from Xtreme Liners. He and I looked at it and he said he could do it in a ultra gritty liner for $150 for both boards, and he would discount $25 off if he has another truck to do. So I'm gonna wait till he gets another truck to do then do it then!

Well it's been a while but I finally got them done. My friend from Church that sprays bed liner had a truck to do so he threw my boards in with them and did the bed and mine. I got them done OTD for $100 so I am pretty happy about that. The supports are a bitch to get on but finally got everything put together (I used my Dad's air tools, I will be buying some soon after today). It does make the truck look lower but it will help with keeping my seats looking better, so I decided to slap them back on. Until I find some power steps or Amp steps.

PICS: (Pics aren't as good, they're not from my D80)

The caps are ready to be put on too I just need to get some new screws for them the old ones were torn up!

What'd y'all think?
