Considering I only put 7k miles on it, it has been a great truck. What sucks is the brake recall that is out on these. I'm not a fan of the brake by wire aspect but it seems technology is going this route and we don't have a choice if you want to get a new vehicle. I still need to get the recall done. The first fix was causing more issues so the second fix is supposed to fix the first fix. LOL

I love the 6.2 and 10sp transmission. I have not towed with it yet. I'm still using my 2002 for that at the moment.

It seems getting it tuned might not happen and if it does it is still a long way off. I can do it if I send in my ECM and $2,000 but not worth it to me. It seems that GM is locking the computers down due to keeping them safer from anyone hacking into the system and controlling your vehicle which in this day and age makes sense.

I will say the ceramic coat I had done to it last spring made a huge difference and if anyone gets a new ride I highly recommend it. So easy to clean compared to the other vehicles. Seems dirt doesn't stick to it as much.

When I took it up to PA to visit mom I got 20mpg and that was running 80 in the interstate. Now my 2002 would have been 15mpg. LOL

That sucks about the brakes. You'd think they would get everything right before they put them on the market. That seems awful expensive for a tune compared to what the cost of one was on the GMT800. Of course,I guess that model has been around for a couple of moons and technology has simply gone through the roof on new vehicles.

I came SOOOOO close to getting a half ton, 2 weeks ago.

I went a drove a new Denali, which was a mistake.

I snapped out of it. For now.
So, you're thinking of leaving the :chevy: behind and jumping into a :gmc:. :D

I own both currently, just always liked my bowties better in the looks dept, but I like the looks of the GMC a bit better this year.

I am trying to decide if we are going to keep the 5th wheel. If we do, then I will keep the diesel, and wait a couple of years, and add a half ton.

I'm considering down sizing to a 1/2 ton myself. That won't be for a few more years though.

It is tough, though. They have cracked down on the mods, so tuning them is almost too challenging.

As for diesels...damn. You can't even do a DPF delete, anymore. I found out the company I got all my stuff from got sued, and you can't even buy parts anymore. Makes me want to keep my diesel forever
