South American Chevy enthusiasts got their first official taste of the 2011 Camaro on Wednesday at the Autódromo de Tocancipá in Bogota, Colombia. The Colombian GM importer is also a distributor for Hennessey Performance, and for those who are wait-listed for the car, Hennessey is offering Performance Packages. To drive home the point, they enlisted Ben Collins (who is simultaneously better and less-well known as Top Gear’s anonymous “tame race driver,” the Stig) to go out and fry the tread right off an ‘11 L99 equipped with Hennessey’s HPE650 package.

Translation:
Announcer: Observe the efforts of Ben Collins! He will demonstrate this thing that a man does! The power of the car cannot be questioned – rush close that you may be struck with pieces of his tire, which is the best of luck! Then you may purchase one for yourself, which will bring pride to your ancestors and shame upon your enemies!

Tip of the LSXtv hat to Camaro5.com, where Hennessey’s rep posted a few pictures from the event as well:
Not sure who the kid is, but he got the best seat in the house…
