That is amazing, I thought 8 track tape players sucked down the juice. Auto Zone or Advance Auto batteries have always done me well. The Advance Auto battery in my 91 jetta lasted 6yrs and that had to crank the diesel engine in that little bugger. But I'm not sure if there are any of those stores up there.
I put a Napa battery in my truck a few winters ago. My Delco took a shit on me after a -15°F night. The Napa went in and started it right up
if at all possible, get the kind with the plugs on the side, and the post on top, it will be nice to have both...
My Optima Yellow Top is that way. The Optima is good for my application. CCAs weren't so much a concern although it does get cold (teens and lower 20's at times)just not as cold as up north. Heard the "newer" yellow tops suck, but I really haven't had a chance to task mine to find out.
I vote Diehard Platinum (http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_...rop17=Diehard Platinum 34/78&isABTestAvl=true) since it is made by Odyssey (http://www.odysseybatteries.com/battery/pc1500.htm) AGM FTW (I run duals in the truck)
The factory radio in my S10 was just AM... This was my aftermarket stereo... At the time, probably about 500RMS total. My Optima Yellow Top is that way. The Optima is good for my application. Heard the "newer" yellow tops suck, but I really haven't had a chance to task mine to find out.[/QUOTE] With the quality control, and the fact that I haven't seen Optima batteries availiable locally, they're pretty much out of the question Though, if my truck currently only uses top posts, why bother with side posts? What am I going to connect to them?
My brother had a yellow top from battery world, it kept breaking internally, after the second one he bought a walmart batttery.
