It's painted on Jim, but anything is removable.

Do you have to open the tailgate to open the tonneau?

Yes Dennis, you do have to open the tailgate to open it up. Which is alright since we have locking tailgates.

Looks great on your truck! Do you know if it works with the plastic stock bedrails, without any drilling?

Yes it will work with plastic caps and no drilling is required for the install. The little clamps are used for all of their models. Only tool needed for install is a 9/16" wrench or a crescent.

Faisal it was about 70 pounds or so. The boxes were also pretty large as you can imagine. About 2 meters tall and 3/4 meter wide..
