I ordered the Bak Flip G2 Tonneau cover through AutoAnything the other day and it arrived this afternoon. So I went about installing it after work.
Unpack your box and check that all the hardware made the trip:
All the hardware was there so it was time to get to installing. I started by wiping down the bed rails, then I attached the shim piece to the inner edge of the bed rail. This will keep the tonneau rails straight.
With the shims in place now gather up your rails and clamps. Place the rails as far forward as possible. Then install the clamps to hold the rails in place. There is no exact place to put them so I put one on each end and split the difference and placed the final one in the middle. Clamp down tight using a crescent or a 9/16" wrench.
Now that your rails are in place, grab your cover and put it up on the rails. Be careful and don't scratch your paint! Get the cover folded out and positioned, then place the bolts in the forward end and tighten them up.
Roll the cover back up and make sure you have a good fit.
Now roll the cover all the way up against the back glass and position the rubber strips in between the glass and the cover.
Test the hold back devices and make sure they are able to secure the cover in the open position.
Now roll the cover back out and enjoy having your cargo protected from the weather and those prying eyes from useless people who like to shop from the back of your truck!
