Jim...mine are in GREEN...(go figure :D)

Matt...my answers are in RED...

but what I don't care for is Tire Pressure Monitoring and possible backup cameras.

I got in the car the other day when it was real cold...and it "DINGED" at me and told me to check the right rear tire because it only had 27 lbs of air in it.
I then aired it up with my compressor...:)

My mom's G6 has them. Convenient for those that are not that mechanical, but I wonder how accurate it is. I'll have to cross-check it with my gauge. Now whenever the car yells at her, she yells at me .

I don't like the fact that people no longer have to have enough common sense to look at a tire and say "oh, that doesn't look good" when it needs air.

Actually, unless you use a gauge on the newer, lower profile tires...you can't tell if one is low...It has to be darn near FLAT before it even starts to LOOK low.

Her's said the tire was at 18psi. When I aired it up, it barely changed. So I can see some point to it, but I still don't think it will save as much gas as they think it will.

Next they'll have sensors to tell when the puck on a brake caliper is out too far instead of people hearing the brakes squeal.

Most newer cars and trucks already have that.
When they make noise...if you replace your pads quickly...it will keep from tearing up the rotors.

Are you talking about the metal tab that hits the rotor before the pad gets worn down...or is there actually and electronic sensor now?

I'm sure there are people that don't do anything unless a little light comes on on their dash.

There are a "BUNCH" of those...and a large percentage of "THEM" even ignore the warning lights.
They just drive till it quits...and then complain that it is not a good vehicle.

Very true. Most people don't give a damn until the shit hits the fan.

Some of the higher end cars actually have a sensor built into the brake pad...in addition to the metal tab that screeches at you.
It will turn on the brake light on the dash and also tell you in the DIC to replace the brake pads..

Maybe if the ass end of cars were not 10' in the air...and windows were proper sized, this wouldn't necessary...

But that makes too much sense............ it'll never happen. :(
Besides...it isn't "STYLISH"...:rollin:

Both valid points (per say).
If new cars didn't have such small rear windows and have the trunk lid 4ft off the ground, they'd be a lot easier to backup.
But that wouldn't be "with the times". New cars have a low front end and high back end. Why can't they just be the same? :dunno:
I prefer to backup my trucks VS any of my parents' cars even though the trucks are a lot longer/bigger.

I'd rather see them mandate cameras in all women's college volleyball locker rooms.
