Doesn't make sense. How does the fluid look? Like everyone else stated could just be an electrical connection/sensor?

Hmmmm, so I called around and all the shops are busy until at least tomorrow. The guy I'd like to use said the earliest he could look at it would be Wednesday.

So, against my wife's recommendation, I take the truck to work this morning. In the parking lot I verify that 1st and R are still dead. In either gear the truck just seems to lock up and I can give it all the gas I want and it does nothing but let the RPMs climb. Sure enough as I'm sitting there the "TRANS FAULT" message comes back up and the O/D light starts blinking.

So I put it in D, creep out of my parking spot and head to work. While driving around the neighborhood I toss it into 2nd... There's a pause, then a "clunk", a jolt and then it seemed to be fine. I get stopped at the stoplight at the entrance to our subdivision and when I hit the gas I notice it seemed to take off alot better. Makes me wonder....

I get to the parking lot at work, put the truck in R and lo and behold, it works! I back up a few feet, then put it in 1st, and that works too! I park it, cut off the engine, let it sit for a minute then fire it back up. 1st and R are working again so I take it for a lap around parking lot and the "TRANS FAULT" message seems to have gone away.

I'm going to see how it acts over the next couple days, then might take it in while I go on vacation and let the guys take a look.
