Interesting. Toyota made a significant investment in the new Tundra in recent years (new plant, heavy marketing, etc). I find it hard to believe they will ditch it this early but only time will tell I guess. I do see quite a few of them around here though.

I see a ton of Tundra's around my area. I think they have a plant in San Antonio somewhere, Jim would know. They are good trucks the people that I have talked to love them. My Brother in law has one and he loves it, never had a problem. They are pretty damn nice inside and out I don't see them stopping production any time soon though.

Well, Toyota did admit they were "embarassed" by the horrible launch of the Tundra due to several build quality issues. I wouldn't say it was a very successful venture, not by Toyota's standards anyway.

I believe that's right. San Antonio and Princeton, Indiana.

All things being equal here, truck quality has not been much about quality for any manufacturers lately. GMC has stepped ahead of most but as a whole trucks haven't really had that quality feel for a while.
If Toyota slows production and ramps up the quality they may be on to something.

I really think they shot themselves in the foot by dumping their diesel engine & 3/4 + 1 ton truck programs. They just cant compete without heavy duty work trucks.

I agree, ALL the truck makers did this, had gm come out with a 1/2 ton diesel, that would have been the ONLY truck i`d cosider trading in the GMC for.

Hmm, I see quite a few around here. A buddy of a buddy has a RCSB tundra with the big V8 in it. The thing really hauls the mail.

Yeah, GM would've made a killing with that 4.5L Duramax... I'd have probably attempted swapping one into my Blazer

They Tundra, while a nice truck... Wasn't anything special... (I'm not bashing, I'm just comparing... It just felt like an everyday truck). It had some getup and go, but still nothing "magic"
