I tried a bit (oil stabilizer) in my brute force for shits and giggles and now it has a lifter noise when warm, and tried it in the 454 and its hard to say for sure but it may seem noisier too when warm (valvetrain...), BUT i put a bit in my supercharger and shes real quiet now, so i`m thinking its good for gears, but not engines.

Anybody else have opinions?

It certainly has some increadible sheer resitance, noticaly when draining it out of the container.... like a long string of cheese...

So i changed the oil in my truck, went with a castrol 5W-50 syntec, and i think she really likes it, comined with the 160F thermostat maybe the 10W-30 wasnt quite getting up to temp to be 30w? I dunno but the 50w certainly raises the warm oil pressure, which certainly can`t be too bad when running a low stat and a supercharger.... race boats around here just love 20w-50... run all day WOT.

anyways lucas oil... back on topic here. good? bad? :dunno:

oh, I`ll change the oil in the brute in a bit and see if the lifter noise goes away, it could just be time for adjustment....

I`m also proud to say that everytime i have changed the oil in the GMC its NEVER-EVER had EVEN a SPEC of METAL on the DRAINPLUG!!! that just puts a smile on my face, and also after a oil change when you first fire it, no knocks or ticks/rattles, nuthing, shes solid, been happily running castrol syntec since i got her...

I've used Lucas trans additive for years in many vehicles. Ilike their stuff but that's all I have knowledge of.

Many moons ago, I had a clapped out Turbo 400 in a Blazer that would quit slipping with a quart of Lucas in it.

Other than that, I do not believe in additives.

I've never used their oils but the power steering fluid they make works great. Quiets pumps right down and makes the steering more smooth. I've also tried their fuel cleaning additive but didnt notice any difference.
