On my 04 1500 silverado when I have a/c on my truck has auto climate control, every so often it will start blowing hot air out of drivers side vents and passenger side stays cold, any suggestions on what is causing this to happen? When this happens if I shut truck off and restart it the a/c is cold out of all vents again. This happens once in a while and it is irritating when hot outside and having hot air blow in you.

All I can tell you is that it is in the dash. I have no idea exactly where. A good code reader would be able to tell you more about the problem. You would need one that will read all codes, not just generic codes that a parts store can read.

Sounds more like a sensor, if it is turning one side hot over the other. Maybe the temp control for the driver side. This would tell the blend damper to actuate allowing warm air to pass thinking that the driver side wants it to be warmer.

It's fairly common for the plastic gears to go bad... but before tearing into it, try this...
SLOWLY (over a period of at least a minute)...run your temperature all the way to HOT...
Then slowly run it all the way back to COLD...
Do that two or three times and if the gears are OK... that should reset it.

Mine does like yours occasionally and I shut her down, open/close the door and restart

You can try this, but would imagine you're still going to be on the same boat

I did disconnect the battery and hooked back up and still acted up, but I cycled from cold to hot a couple of times and set it at 68* and has worked fine for 4 days now.
