Thats what I do. Don't know if it helps or not, but I don't usually have any troubles.

I learned while working with 500w halogens not to touch the bulb, and assumed the same of cars halogens...

All this talk on touching the bulb before you put it in is BS, I piss on mine before I install them. Works great!

Isn't that the same as cleaning them with alcohol?
