thats not a bad idea scotty about mounting them where the rears are now...

Yeah, I have mounted a handful of sets like that. The hard part is you have to do all that trimming though.
Oh, and you can't do it on the 96-98 trucks that have a third door. Only if they are in the rear corners.

trimming is made easy now with things like a dremmel....

:werd:

I have also used a sheet metal nibbling tool. It makes straight clean cuts unlike tin snips. It also cuts plastic very well too.

You don't need the polyfil unless you are trying to get bass out of them. And you said you had a subwoofer already, right?

Scotty more questions and guys.

OK im not going to use some in the boxes shoot I don't even know if I should use the speakers period. Scotty like I wrote my Alpine says 45X4 would it be better if I use the 404 amp for my 4X6 speakers or should I leave it as is?

Now is my Alpine stereo set up for putting out more highs to my front speakers than my back ones and if I do hook up the 404 amp to the 4x6 speakers will it be clearer sound or should I just leave it as is or will it not make a difference? Your the man please let me know what would be best. It sounds clear as is im just wondering about the questions above. Also is my stereo or stereo's set up to where more highs go to the front speakers and mid's and bass go to back speakers? I hope you understand what I mean I sometimes confused myself.
Thanks! Roland :)

A dedicated amp will ALWAYS give you better sound quality than the radio's built in amp. If your dash speakers are capable of handling the power, I would hook them to the amp. And even though the radio says 45x4, that's peak wattage. Its actually closer to 20-22 watts per speaker. And as far as having more highs up front, I am not sure if your radio has one of those image enhancer settings settings or not. You can always adjust it to your liking with the fader if you need to adjust or even out the front and rear speakers so then sound even.
