OK, and in the mean time, see if you can find or I will try to find a generic wiring diagram for GM external voltage regulator charging system.

LOL-HOT ROD-is scared of a skirt-lol---does both prongs need a wire-or-just one of them?

Buddy, Skirts are my favorite. I don't run from them, I run up in them !!!:naughty: But I also know many women that don't have to be told what to do. It was just a funny. :)

Both prongs will have a wire hooked to them, as said above, I am wanting to say a white and a blue for some reason. Both should be in plastic type plug.

Well-bad news-i think that noise iv been hereing is a rod-im thinking of yanking out the 350 engine and tranny out of the monza and put it in the 66-that's the good news.I am thinking of just finishing the monza and sell the trk-i was thinking of putting that cam i put in the trk...in the monza and a few of the parts on the trk on the monza-it would be easier and that monza would eat that trk easy-it already has pos. track rearend-newly rebuilt 350 tranny with 2500 stall-the engine is good just really needs a lifter.

What makes you think its a rod knocking??? A rod knocking does not sound anything at all like a water pump going out. With the motor cooled, and the battery charged up. Start the truck with all the belts off the front of the engine. That will help isolate if its driven accessory OR NOT. Normally when a rod is knocking, its KNOWN, not a I think it might be. Its very prominate and definate. Don't throw the towel in just yet. :fingersx:

I took off the fan, alt, belt that runs the water pump, alt, and fan-i did check the compression on a few while my compression gauge was ok(broke)and my highest reading was 180lbs of compression which according to burt would make it around 12-to-1---it seems to run solid other than that noise and i can't firgure out where it's at.iv doubled check wiring...it's good and i'm getting spark to the cyclinders-iv switched dist. to-i checked the fly wheel and pressure plate bolts---re ran the valves...-still knocks away no matter what.it does not get hot though even with mostly water in it-it blows out white smoke out the driver side.

Are you still running a mechanical fuel pump. I have heard Chevy fuel pumps sound almost like a rod when they get worn because of the push rod operation.
