Any evidence would burn off of the plugs in just a few miles. I thought we were talking about an engine that had not been started. Apparently my coffee hasn't kicked in.
If this engine has run a 100 miles and more, you don't need to add anything in the cylinders. Anything that is going to be removed by the rings is gone now. Some people like to run seafoam through the carb (a little at a time) and claim it helps remove deposits inside the engine. I think I'd just keep the oil changed a little more often than normal and drive it.
Those old cast iron blocks are TOUGH!
