6.2 heads won't make any difference. The days of just swapping parts between GM engines for performance gains are long gone. Most modern performance (beyond the cubic inch displacement) comes from the engine control programming.

The days of "big block" and "small block" are long gone.
Sorry Jim but L92 heads are a huge improvement over the older Gen III 6.0 heads. The L92's are based off of the LS7 heads and flow huge for stock castings.

The 6.2 won't make its way into the 3/4 to 1 ton segment until they get an iron block version.

.

why does it have to be an iron block? they could shave so much weight with the aluminum block to help mpg out.

or is it because they know these trucks 2500 or 3500 will be doing some work and the extra weight of them and the load would make the iron block better suited?

Durability, mostly...
Work trucks are beat hard, generally going from fully heated up to dunked in water and cooled right down, back to fully heated up again...

And maybe to help keep the nose down under heavy loads, lol

The new body style (07+) are all Gen IV motors. And to go with everyone else, the Gen IV 6.0 already have the heads from the 6.2 L92. I think the vettes use the L92 heads too (with lighter valves and springs). Also, LS is generally used to describe any of the engines from the Gen III/IV family, but "officially" only cover the car engines in the Vette, Camaro (manual only for the new one), Firebird, GTO, and Trailblazer SS.

BUT, do you have a 2007 GMT800 (old body style) or GMT900 (new body style)?

Both were made in 2007 and they have different heads
