im willing to spend what it takes. Obviously not everyone is made of money so i can only do 1 large upgrade at a time. but i know it wont come cheap im probably lookt at around $25,000 to be able to keep up

$25K is a lot to dump into a 10-year-old Chevy pickup.

Yeah but would you expect it to be fast when it pulled up? I wouldn't, I like making people a little upset about things sometimes.

Ive thought to the point of Maybe Twin T66 turbos.
If we are really talking balls to the walls 9 second truck, I would think about upgrading from your 5.3 to a forged 6.0. You will need a built transmission as well as well as some safety equipment if you want to run at a track.

Hey, to each their own! I'm all for making trucks fun to drive, that's just a ton of cash to make a truck fast. for $25K you could buy a pristine 600HP Whippled '03/'04 Cobra and have a truck to boot.

yeah i know its overkill for a pickup to be that fast for street use. But who owns a fast sports car and likes bein beat in race by a Crew cab pickup

im thinking of building up an allison to go behing it. Couldn't i just forge my 5.3?
Don't waste your time doing an Allison when a built 4l80E will handle just about anything you can throw at it. You can forge your 5.3 but you will need to run the thing completely ragged to get the power you will need out of it. It's much easier and about the same price to go with a forged 6.0

I just don't get it. Who cares if someone beats you in a GT500... It's a car built for speed. I wouldn't go crazy and spend cash just to win everyone that races you.

I would just take the cash and buy a quicker truck or sports car.
