I've driven a V8 Miata. One from Monster Miatas that had a Ford 5.0 in it. It belonged to a friend who is Service Manager at the Mazda store. Straight line was fun, but the handling was not all that pretty. As with most tiny cars with a shoehorned V8 in the nose, it pushed like a high speed dumptruck on gravel. Miatas with a 4 are about the most perfectly balanced sports car I have ever owned.

Jackson Racing superchargers or Turbos are the way to go.

But, a Miata? Those things are so tiny, sit low, and could be a really gnarly death trap :dunno:

I guess I just don't feel safe in anything smaller than a F/S truck :D

Look at a second gen RX7 on You-Tube a lot of people have put LS engines in them the RX7 that im talking about is 1986-1991 I think. I wonder how many windsheilds they break by twisting the body on that little Miata. After driving my brothers truck my truck engine feels like a 4 banger. :(

Aluminum LS3 allows better balance than the ford V8.

This makes me remember my school days. I had always liked the stereotypical american V8 or older straight-sixes with the cam in block, but some of these japanese cars are cool...

I always liked the Skyline R34.

That's exactly why people buy them, and why I just posted a wanted ad for one on a local site. For the money, NOTHING will handle even close to a Miata, and small and low is what gives you that. It's basically a go-kart that they let you drive on the street.
