Must have been some serious position changing going on.

A LOT of people ran out of gas on that last lap or two.. I was watching the battle cam on RaceBuddy and the camera kept jumping from one car to another to another, as they were running out of gas.. :uhoh:

He's a very smart cat, Ken (when he can tear himself away from licking his balls)

Had 2nd place until 3/5 of the team ran out of gas...Looks like Geoff won, was looking pretty dominant for a while there. Congrats

Hamlin ran out late int he race, pretty sure Truex did as well, Logano was leading and ran out on the 2nd to last lap, Kyle took over the lead, then he ran out of gas on the last lap. Kenseth took over the lead and got the win

Yeah, he was beating me by about 100 pts for at least the last half of the race. I feel very fortunate that my score came UP some and he came back some to the rest of the pack.

Yeah.. Denny and Kyle (two of my picks) ran out of gas, but Jr and Gordon (two more of my picks) didn't. So, Jr and Gordon made up what the other two lost.. plus a few. I think I had a net gain of about 10-12 pts in that last lap or two..

Kurt and Kasey both had wrecks. Kurt was still running, but not well.. But, yeah, your other three ran out of gas.. They were running pretty good up to that point, though.

You think NASCAR can give Kyle a second exemption to get him into the chase if he doesn't make top-30? Chances of that are fairly slim, but it seem like if he doesn't win he's finishing pretty poorly. It doesn't look good if the driver with the most wins during the season doesn't make the Chase, especially if he kicks it into high gear again and starts winning Chase races.

Nope. He'll make it. Even with today's "bad" finish, he gained 10 points on 30th, leaving him only 13 out of 30th.. They still have 5? 6 races between now and the start of the Chase? He'll make it into the top 30 and then Joe Gibbs will sit him down and tell him "run GOOD ENOUGH to maintain your position or maybe gain a little, but DON'T BE STUPID and knock yourself out of the top 30!"

NASCAR has been taking enough flack already, with people claiming these new aero packages are "designed to make Kyle run better" and "they shouldn't have given him a waiver" (even though it's IN THE RULE BOOK that they can give a waiver for medical reasons), etc..

TO ME, they should do away with the waiver all together. If you're in the top 30 and you've won, you're in.. If top 30 is too "lax," make it top 25.. I've always thought it was kind of silly that you "have" to run every race to be Chase eligible.

If you're good enough that you don't "need" to run EVERY single race and you can get a win and score enough points to get high enough in the standings, missing a race (or a few) shouldn't matter..

Tom Brady won't be "ineligible" to go to the Super Bowl because the league is going to make him miss a few games over "Deflate-gate." So, why should NASCAR say Kyle can't be in the Chase if he meets all the criteria? IMO, the waiver should have never been a requirement. That's a STUPID thing that gives NASCAR the flexibility to at least APPEAR to play favorites. They should eliminate it and simplify the rules, in that regard.

Got the points? Got a win? You're in. Done deal.

Speaking of the waiver, TO ME... The waiver they gave KURT Busch was one that should not have been given. (If they weren't going to give one.) He was NOT out for medical reasons. Him missing races was due to off track behavior and had nothing to do with "injuries sustained during a race" (which is part of what they're supposed to use a guideline for granting the waivers).

Do away with the waiver, though (as I suggested above), and it's no longer "NASCAR patting the guys on the back that they like and saying it's ok to <do whatever activity people don't like that led to the suspension>," which is something I heard when they granted Kurt a waiver for what happened with him.....
