Looks like a 14-bolt Semi Float.

If you think those drums and center section are big, you should see a 14-bolt Full Float. The drums weigh at least 50lbs each!
ANy more info on the 14 bolt semi float?

Wow, what a difference

Um....I really don't have any info on it other than it has a 9.5" ring gear. I think the axles are held in similar to a 10-bolt. The difference between a Semi Float and Full Float is that in a SF, the axle carries the weight of the vehicle; in a FF, the housing carries the weight and the axles can be removed without removing the wheel (with the right center cap of course) and also uses a 10.5" ring gear.

I like the newer wheels on the old trucks. But since this one is so original, Im gonna leave it as such. It is tempting to find a set of those though. If the truck was 4x4 I'd make it look just like that one you quoted.

There is no clear coat on this truck anymore lol.

That red you see on the buffing pads is red from the paint. All I did was take all the oxidation off and then seal it with wax, to make it look like new. It certainly looks good and it will last if I keep wax on it.

Buffed pretty much the whole truck, minus the roof and cowl. Came out nice. When I get a chance I'm going to remove some of the aluminum trim and shine it up also.

Also looked in the Summit book, and with the help of their picture guide matched my rear to a 14 bolt with a 9.5" ring gear. According to the glove box options sheet (and my gas mileage) this truck has 4.10's. I'd like to go 3.42, which would still give me towing and hauling power but would bring my RPM's down to 2500 @ 65 from 3000 @ 65, if I calculated correct.

For the replacement ring and pinion gear set, 3.42, they only want $195.00. The add another $95 for the overhaul kit, which includes: Pinion nut, seal, shims, bearings and races, crush sleeve, carrier shims, ring gear bolts, loctite, marking compund, brush and gasket.

So for $300-ish I can have lower RPMs and better mileage. Looking into this.

Today I also got a chance to run up to my Uncles house, this guy is a whiz in ANYTHING mechanical. I dont know much about carburators, and mines been acting up. So anyway he checks vaccum, then pulls off the whole choke assembly, and its all gummed up, and then tweaks some more and I am back up and running smooth!

Just happened to look in the glove box and the options sheet is in great condition, and the camper mounting decal too.
