Hey, do you still happen to have your 10-bolt? If you do, could I PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE buy the passenger drum backing plate off of you? Thanks!

I wish that I still had it! But it went to the scrap yard! Sorry

Dang it! It looks like that's where I'm going to have to go searching for one. Oh well, at least it'll be sub-$10 there!

Yeah let me know if you have any problems finding one! I am sure that I can check the places around here if need be!

I was out the local Pull-a-Part a while back and there seemed to be plenty of backing plates on the trucks, but there wasn't a single one of the axle shafts I needed. It's just a matter of getting out there in the 90 degree heat versus sitting here and doing it all by keyboard. But thanks! Who knows, I might need to take up that offer with my luck!

How far away do you live from Dothan?

did you look at EFI live when you were looking at a tune?

Nearly 200 miles; Dothan is only about 15 miles from Florida.

No, but I did when I was getting my tune done.

Did you post this here on accident, or am I missing something?

I was just a random question cause I saw that you had Blackbear on your truck.... I am getting the EFI and I will be able to program the black truck with it too!

Oh, okay! I was getting worried you were stalking me! :jester:

You can download their software for free and view the data you recorded, but you have to purchase a key or something to be able to modify your settings yourself. That stuff is pretty complicated to get into on your own, I really recommend just letting Justin do it since he knows the program will and has tuned thousands of vehicles (including Duramaxes), I'm sure. He does teach EFI Live courses at EFI University, after all. :naughty:

hhmmm I talked to Jenna a little while back and she said that they didnt do anything for the Dmaxers...

Wow, I thought he did. My bad! :D

Nothing to add here, just felt left out of this quoting party :jester:

Thanks, I'll look into it!

http://www.car-part.com

I can't really find any backing plates listed on there, but I've already tried RockAuto (looks similar) and they didn't have any.

I`m looking inot a DBC for my 14 bolt FF. i just can`t stand the re-occuring brake pulsation from the rear drums. seen kits from 400-1000+ but most use the rotors and calipers from 73-87 chevys? and some are not available with parking brakes? unless you get a caliper from a 72 eldorado? WTF! why can`t somebody just make a kit with knock off gm parts? I mean the 14 bolt has discs for 2001 and up! don`t see why a guy could`nt throw those parts on an older axle... I`m going to check out an axle or two out at the wrecker sometime to confirm. because i`m going to have to spend nearly 500 for drums and shoes plus seals why not go the distance and get greater stopping power? oh and dammit i`ve also had enough with the shocks they gotta go, going to order some bilstiens from summt soon! 70 a piece is nice... they are 250each localy! unfricken believable!
