It's not heaven . . . it's Iowa!
My aluminum block 5.3 drinks oil like water. AT least a quart every oil change, maybe more.

It heats up quick in the winter. So i've got that going for me, which is nice

Don't give the man a panic attack. Chances are he will be just fine.

2 of my employees have the 07s (one bought within weeks of mine) and my buddy has the '08.
The one '07 just crossed 150K, and all it got was a diff rebuild. I remember when he blew up the G80 doing a burnout
IIRC most of the 08s had no issues, at all. Not sure about the TSB, or if that was fixed, but I recall there being the updated lifters for the AFM.

Just get a tune, Kenny, you will love it!

Tune, air intake tube, Amsoil air filter, and you'll hang with a same generation stock 6.2... As long as you're rolling [emoji38]

You'll need more than just that to overcome the 2 gear difference...

Oh yeah, you need to call :bbp: immediately!

Also, don't forget the throttle body spacer. :jester:

I think the 6 speed is even worse with AFM at real highway speeds. With the higher gearing it stays under 2000 RPM until 75ish. No way are four cylinders going to make enough power at that RPM for a 3 ton brick to run at those speeds. 55-60 it'll run in V4 a decent amount but anything above that requires a tail wind or to be driving downhill.

Of the people I know that had the problem, it was solved with the TSB.

Myself, I just disabled AFM... No change in fuel economy for mine.

Yep, disabling AFM is the best solution, without a doubt.

ZERO difference in gas mileage for me (95% city/suburban driving).

With the right exhaust, though... 4 banger mode sounds like a HUGE freakin' Subaru.

Keep an eye on the oil level and let us know if it's an oil drinker or not.

Good luck.
