EL vs. UEL Headers Info w/ Video

Equal vs. Unequal Length Headers Info The sound recording part at the bottom is interesting. Essentially it's a plot of pressure measured off the rear bumper between an OEM header and a EL Killer B header. You can see the difference in sound waves pretty clearly. EL...

Took the STI to the Track

Best I could run all night was a 13.3 @ 106 MPH, and that's even with a 1.81 60' :( There were a lot of people there and my intercooler is unfortunately mounted on top of the engine. The turbo was pulling in 140 - 150 degree air and trying to cool it through an equally hot intercooler. Just...

    Chevy Tahoe

I know the Tahoe is basically a permanent camper on a 1500 series truck, but do they have any specific issues? (MY08+) I'm contemplating an SUV and the Tahoe looks like a winner. Does the 5.3 respond to mods at all? Probably just do some simple stuff, tune, intake, maybe a muffler (ala Fred...

    Project Idea

Since my Dad wants to better my German shitboxes I thought I'd fire up a new project. I want to build a hypermiler out of a mid 90s Civic hatchback. Just think it'd be a fun, cheap project and would let me thin the herd a bit since it'd be the new daily driver. What say ye? My old Si got...

    2011 STI - Dyno Results

Took my 2011 STI to be tuned up in Plano. Here's the results, the lesser curve is the Off-the-Shelf (OTS) map, and the better curve is with a custom tune at the same boost pressure. 298whp / 343 lb. ft. on a Mustang dyno.

    Project One Cylinder Down

So the sound of a H4 have grown on me ... to the point that I'm finally putting a downpipe and exhaust on my STI and going to stage II. Generally this puts out about 300whp / 320wtq. ... which should be FUN for an AWD car. Downpipe came in today, waiting on the exhaust and gaskets. Also...

    Late Model Transmissions

My friend's 4.8L 2000-ish model GMC has eaten through a number of transmissions thanks to a healthy nitrous shot and some bolt-ons. If I were to open the motor up with a decent cam, intake, and header back exhaust would I be really pushing the transmission? :dunno:

    How much!?

I got bored and built myself a truck on Chevy's website. It was a 2wd regular box 5.3L single cab LT with very few options, the damn thing was $27K! I was thinking of maybe getting a truck, but to hell with $27K for a basic truck. Since when were they so damn expensive?
