I'll make some calls to my local Discount Tire tomorrow. I was planning on buying the KMC's from them in the first place.

+35 I'm hoping that's enough to keep them from sticking out. Most people run the +18, but they're on 4WD trucks.

Well the Monsters are 9 inches wide, so maybe 295 would be better?

Those are the perfect size! I think that would help keep the rubber from sticking out too far.

I've noticed that tire thickness really varies from one manufacture to another, even though they are the same. Do they not measure the tread too?

My next mod is wheels and tires (next as in "after brakes"). I'm planning on buying a set of 20"x9" KMC Monsters with a set of General Grabber UHP's. I think I've decided on the 295/45 size, but need to see how that would look on that wheel size. If you've got any street tires on you ride...

I wouldn't recommend going from 3.55's to 3.73's. You really won't be able to feel the difference. I would sell the 3.73's to someone and put that money towards a set of 4.56's/4.88's if you truck is 4WD.

I lied, it's not. Want to buy it? :lol: I really don't know what's wrong with it, but they told me that it would have to be adjusted way past the 3000 limited (maybe .003's ?) and would vibrate and make more noise. They also said that I would be on my own if it detonated. At least now I know...

Well it's done, and I'm $760 lighter. Unfortunately no pics, I had to work. There is a whine at 50-54, but I'm hoping that goes away soon. If not, no biggie. If it gets progressively louder or starts howling, these guys are going to get a call from me. I'm going to try and get a 0-60 time next...

I don't even know. He said that their tech said that it's adjustment limit was maxed out to 3000. Any more and it would cause unwanted vibrations. I kind of have a feeling that they are trying to screw me since I supplied every part they could need, but don't want to take the chance that I'm wrong.

Turns out my used LSD was junk. Shop is getting a brand new unit and I'll be $300 poorer. It might get done today. That's what I get for buying used parts on ebay.

I'm surprised that GMC doesn't sell as well as Chevy. I've always liked the styling of GMC more.

Small update. Everything is going in on Monday at 8:30. I've been sweating that used LSD so I'm just going to have the shop tear it down and rebuild it with carbon fiber clutches. They might make it chatter a little more on turns, but I would rather it do that than not work. I might take pics if...

I bought mine used with 11,000 miles on it back in 2008. I've put almost 30,000 daily driver miles on it since.

The V10's aren't that great. They aren't as powerful as the Power Strokes and they get awful MPG's.

3.55's and an open diff. This is going to be a game changer for my truck. :lol:

And I picked the best lube on the market to protect my investment. :thumbs: Do you know if it's OK to use a Motorcraft friction modifier with this?

4.30's and tossing in an OEM LSD. The guys that are supposed to do the job nearly shat a brick when I told them "4.30's". :lol:

I made a promise to myself to never buy another truck with a V6 again. This ecoboost engine sure isn't going to change my mind. They may get good mileage, but they aren't going to make enough usable power where a truck needs it.

Short bed because long beds are ugly and I never use the bed to haul anything.
