Well no luck. I bought the 2 9/64 socket and it was toosmall. I cannot find a size larger. So what is the deal with these ball joints?

    Considering a 91 Chevy build

I was trying not to get my hopes too high. Besides, the get that out of the Ford 351 I have in the garage would cost more. That is why I figured three grand was a good deal.

    Considering a 91 Chevy build

I priced everything out through Summit for the engine. As long as I do the owrk and no "major" machine work is required I can get around 400 ponies for $3,000. But that means nothing if the rest of the truck will be too costly.

    Considering a 91 Chevy build

Thay is one reason I have alays wanted to build a 350. Sounds like the bad thing is even though a lot of the work is done, I will have mor ein the truck than I could sell it for. I am not saying that is my plan. But when I do finall sell it at som epoint, it would be nice to at least break even.

    Considering a 91 Chevy build

I agree, LMC is not the good deal it use to be. That is why I was hoping for some place else to pop up. Are parts for the body style pricey in general? I ask because my Chevy friends are always telling me how much cheaper they are to build than Fords.

    Considering a 91 Chevy build

I have my reasons for this. All I am looking for is information I may not already have. Because I have been a Ford guy for so long I know where to look for custom and hard to find Ford stuff. Now I am looking for some GM resources.

    Considering a 91 Chevy build

I found a hell of a deal on a 91 Chevy that is underconstruction. The current owner has already done a lot of chassis work and thetear down. The front has three inch drop spindles, nicely painted frame, andbig new chrome rims with new tires on all four corners. It is not 100% completebut there...

Question about MOPAR ball joint sockets

This is getting ridiculous. I thought if I could buy newball joints from a parts store they should be able to get me the socket. I havegone to every store in the area and I just get a blank stare when I ask for thissocket I need. They all say “I will call and see if I can get it” then I...

I think that is all they need as well. I just get sick of learning after the fact there was a trick to make it easier.

    Ball joint replacement on a 91 D350.

The ball joint boots on the 91 D350 I am pulling parts offof are torn. I would love to just replace them because the ball joints stillfeel great. But, I cannot get just the boots. So before I try to tear into thisproblem I wanted to find out from someone who has done it how it is done...

    Project: Papa’s Dodge, stage one.

A little headway made. I got most of the passenger sidedone. I also re-installed the old parts on the donor truck. I want to e able tomove it around. I still get a kick out of how much bigger the later model oneton parts are.

    Project: Papa’s Dodge, stage one.

Due to losing my take home car, I am a bit more motivated toget this done. I went ahead and drilled out the old brackets. I cannot say I amthrilled, but it will do until I tear the truck down and swap cross members. Igot new strut link bushings and fought like hell to get the driver side...

It would be nice to do a frame swap. If the later model was not six feet shorter I would. I am looking forward to it.

    Project: Papa’s Dodge, stage one.

Ran into my first hang up. I cannot believe I did not noticethis. Had I known, this would have been a deal breaker. I have a full tear downplanned for this truck. So I do not want to get into a lot of mods nor do Iwant to spend a lot of money on this stage of the build. The brackets that holdthe...
