Well I've heard about better water resistants and what not. I've always used regular red high temp mystic grease for wheel bearings. Just wanting to know what the big deal is with them.

i watched video about grease pound out on the amsoil. What makes Amsoil's grease so much better than say mobil 1 grease for wheel bearings and such?

I no longer use 15w50 in the 96. It currently has mobil 1 full syn with a mobil 1 filter too. The Xterra also currently uses the same. Next oil change however The 96 will get Mobil 1 EP with the Amsoil filter and the Xterra will get the same. Then after 10K ima do a ful switch to amsoil on...

Well i'm going to use Mobil 1 EP on my next oil change with an Amsoil filter. I doing analyzes on Mobil 1 Full Syn at 5000, Mobil 1 EP at 7500, and finally Amsoil at 15,000 with a filter change at 7500. I was going to just switch to amsoil but I'm really curious to see what the tests show. Oh...

Yes it should be covered under warranty. Just to be safe i would put the door panel back on, along with anything else you took off and take it to your local dealer and have it fixed. If you DIY it and something happens it could void your warranty.

I want some Amsoil Stickers. :) One would look great on my truck and one on my hard hat next to my K&N sticker :D

thats what i was kinda thinking....I'll call the mexican exhaust shop that put my new cat in and see how much they'll charge me to weld it back and put in a new hanger. Installing the cat was only 50 bucks so maybe It will be on the cheapo.

Discovered a broken weld on my exhaust that is only two years old. Its under warrenty but the guy that did it is in prison. :frustration:

I hope you used it sparingly. Personally i use a wee bit of engine oil. Like two or three drops then install and torque.

i was actually thinking a seeping valve cover gasket. but the whole outside plug that wasn't in the boot should have oil on it.

any chance your truck was made for export? :dunno:

i've actually seen people take air/water separators from like home depot fill them with a little steel wool and retrofit them the their cars/trucks and the do the same thing for a lot less.

Put new battery cables on the '96. Cables came with all connectors, heat wrap, and even the rubber boot for the alternator bolt. AC Delco FTW!
