I'm sure Nick has an answer for this. He'll chime in when he's back on.

Well I've heard about better water resistants and what not. I've always used regular red high temp mystic grease for wheel bearings. Just wanting to know what the big deal is with them.

AMSOIL's grease has been engineered to resist pound out and protection in adhesion to metal parts to provide the maximum protection as well as extended lubrication intervals up to 50% longer than other grease manufactures.

The total make up of each type of grease offered by AMSOIL serves well in it's respected application. For wheel bearings and high speed application it resists breakdown due to heat and friction allowing for maximum protection. It also provides protection from dirt and contamination that can occur from operation in dirty dusty environments by providing a seal around all the metal parts.

Water washout is another area that synthetic grease performs well, keeping the moisture from coming in contact with the metal parts as well as from the being washed out if exposed to heavy contact with water.

In general AMSOIL's grease is a high quality complex engineered grease that has been designed to provide the maximum protection in each application that it is applied. It last up to 50% longer than competitive greases, as well as 50% less grease is required per use. This saves the end user in that they get maximum protection as well as use less grease to protect their vehicles and equipment.

How often do you do it now? It has been so long since I had a wheel bearing that needed service I don't remember how often I checked them. I want to say I checked them once a year and repacked when I had to due my brakes. But that was even before I knew about AMSOIL. My 65 Impala doesn't get used that much so I only packed them once since I put the disc brakes on the front and only have driven it about 19k miles total since then.
