I see where you are going. The problem is the ignition on this truck has left us on the side of the road more than once already. at the very least I have got to get rid of the points.

I found a 3/4 Dodge with a 360 in a local salvage yard. I am pretty sure it is mid 80s. It has a cast iron intake with a 4bbl Quadrajet sitting on it. The owner said I can have the carb and intake for $50. Dos this sound like a good move?
