I finished the bracket and hooked everything up. It was just mocked up before I solder wrap all the new wiring. And, nothing. No spark. I know I am dealing with junk yard parts, but I was hoping to at least get a little life out of them. I want to make sure this set up is going to work before I...
I had about an hour last weekend when I was home and this is all I had time to accomplish. As I mentioned before, I have been working on an HEI conversion. I found a GM coil, HEI module, and heat sink all on one bracket. I have been trying to figure out where and how to mount it. I know it is...
I no longer think is ways of Ford or GM parts. It would seem to me a hand full of companies makes the parts for all the OEM's. I remember there being something specific about the for coil though and now I cannot find the information.
It is not that MOPAR stuff is hard to find. I am just...
Every article I have read about this conversion states something a little different about which coil is best to use. I have notice the Ford coil seems to be preferred but I have not seen why. i prefer to use off the shelf parts so I can swing into any parts store for replacements.
Back when I started researching the HEI upgrade I read the Ford coil is a better choice than the GM coil. I picked up several of each from the salvage yard along with all the wiring, connectors and bracketry. I plan to get it all mocked up and running with the junk yard parts then replace with...
I would like to keep a 318 in this old truck. I am guessing if 92 is the first year, I might want to find one a few years newer. I know the first year something comes out is before the bugs get worked out.
This was the last thing I could get done before I had to leave. I found a good spare under a Chevy. Because the rim had the Chrysler emblem I grabbed it. That is all for now. the truck will at least be sitting in the shop while i am gone.
I was very disappointed when I found this. I have had the original floor mat in storage. It looked great when I stuck it in the box. Now it has tears in it.
I painted over the rust converter with blue Rustoleum. I know it does not match but I was expecting the floor mat to cover it.
I know I have not been updating this build much. Since I moved into the new shop I have been busy with other stuff. I have been chipping away at the old Dodge when I could though. I am almost finished with it. Install the interior parts, wire up the new ignition and finish the brake lines is...
I am doing this to my old Dodge
But these are the parts I have to work with.
I want to sue the HEI modules I have because they will have cleaner install. I like the single plug in connector The problem is I do not know which wire is which. I need help deciphering the pins so I can wire...
I pulled this dash out of a parts car because it was pretty close to perfect. Mine is shredded from the sun. During the removal this happened. I did not realize it was so brittle. I know if I let this go it will look like the dash I am replacing in no time. What can I do to not only stop it from...
Here is what I am dealing with. I know the metal end goes into the clamp behind the carb. But the amount of cable is throwing me off. Plus, the cable wants to naturally lay in the opposite direction.
