Headers then cam, by the way, I'm running Doug Thorly headers too, never had a problem with them, and they have been wet, my fender well gap, is like 6", so any time it rain's, which it rain's a lot here in western Oregon, they get wet from road spray, when I installed my headers, I didn't...

E/Fan's have a lot of pluses, I'm running an efan from an 01 Cobra Mustang, I have it wired, for a manual over ride, to take care of the very problem you are talking about, on my fan, it has two pig tails, one for lower speed fan ops, and one for high speed, on the mustang, when you select A/C...

I have seen this done to Corvetts too, it was a newer vett, with old vett look...I'm not feeling the 57 Camaro, it just don't seem to fit the frame all that well....that just me....
