    New toys coming in

You got it, man. Heck it may end up being cheaper/easier to just buy a new set. I think they run about $180 on Sonic right now. I tried looking around for a crossover, but it would probably be easiest to contact Alpine directly for a replacement. If it's too big of a headache to deal with...

    Fog Light bulbs

Yes I believe so. You'd want to double-check just to avoid any damage to your housings, but I don't recall ever seeing anyone have any issues with the rectangular ones.

    New toys coming in

Yessir got them installed and love them. They really aren't noticeably better than the Alpines. They sound a bit clearer at higher volumes but that's about it. I did move the tweeters up where Leo mounted his. They sound much better, but I did have to tone down the higher frequencies because...

    Fog Light bulbs

I forget the bulb # but since you're lucky enough to have the rectangular fog housings you can run a high beam bulb in there without any melting issues. Unfortunately round fogs tend to melt. If I had rectangular housings I'd be running the high beamers for better visibility. I think it's...

    Rancho 4" ???

I was about to ask if you had an FX2 or FX4 but I just saw on your profiles it's the latter. That is strange that 33x12.5 won't fit leveled. Definitely go with a lift if you have the money. The Rancho 4" is perfect for those that don't want a 6" but want something taller. If I were to...

    Carolina's PTM Project

Nice, Jeff, they look great. Should give a good solid texture, too, when climbing in and out.

Ways to carry mountain bikes IN/ABOVE Bed:

A dead deer getting tossed around is completely different from $1000 worth of equipment getting tossed around. So true. I've even roughed up the paint on my Ranger by leaning two bikes against each side of the bed with the handlebars hanging over. The handlebars scuffed the paint. :facepalm...

Anybody have any direct experience with these?

Gotcha--that's a good point. IIRC mine is set up to mimic where the bulb "screws" into the housing, to keep everything safe from the environment. The wiring is tucked inside the housing. I'll check it out tomorrow to be sure. edit- Read what I just wrote and it really didn't make sense, so...

Anybody have any direct experience with these?

Most LED tails plug in like that. I don't see the difference between plugging a harness into a bulb socket as opposed to plugging the bulb itself into the socket. :dunno:

Anybody have any direct experience with these?

Yeah a lot of the LED tails nowadays are direct plug and play. Mine are that way--you pull out the old tail bulbs and plug the led harness into the bulb socket. I think you'd be fine with any set as long as you go ahead and throw a thick bead of RTV sealant around the lens housing. They have...

    Ford Bulldog Emblems on fender

Now, if you're David, it's not very funny. However, I thought it was funny considering how creative and outrageous the whole thing was.

Ways to carry mountain bikes IN/ABOVE Bed:

I've used my bike rack in the hitch before with nothing in the bed. I don't have any other way to carry them without throwing them in the bed and letting them get thrown around. Not about to do that with a $1000 bike (more with friends' bikes), especially when I have paid $200 for a nice...

    TruXedo B-Light??

I agree to pick up some universal LED strips and put them in yourself. Much cheaper since you won't be paying for brand name. I've also seen guys wire it up in such a way as to add a pin switch between the tailgate and the truck, so that when you open the tailgate the lights come on. Seems...

Escort 9500ix Radar Detector - Brief Review (Lotta Text)

Thanks, guys. I wish I would have taken pics/videos of it in action, but as soon as I found out how much it would cost me for a suit I went ahead and packed it up for shipping. No need using it longer than necessary.

Escort 9500ix Radar Detector - Brief Review (Lotta Text)

Sorry guys, no pics this time. Let me start off by clearing a few things up. First, I will be sending it back. Second, it's not because of the unit--I just had something come up that needs the money more. I went to Men's Warehouse the other day for a suit expecting to spend roughly $300 or...

    SO TEMPTING

Thanks, Jim. I like it already. I passed another LEO that drives one of the new chargers in a neighboring town. He was sitting at a red light but I couldn't tell it was a cop because it was too dark. The only way I knew is because the Escort started going off. It seems all the guys around...

    New toys coming in

Got them in but it turns out they don't fit. I'll have to do a little modifying. So good news, Jeff, looks like you'll be getting some adapter plates with the Alpines. It's a straight switch---no cutting or fabricating required.

    SO TEMPTING

 I'll see if I can get a video tomorrow. I actually had my camera with me tonight and tried to. I passed the 2nd cop and he was in a location that they usually sit, so I was like "okay I'll go get a short clip of this thing in action." By the time I turned around he already had someone...

    SO TEMPTING

I drove around with it tonight and passed 2 cops that were sitting and waiting for people. They weren't using instant-on or laser. I picked both of them up a good deal down the road. Where I'm at it will be useful. If it saves me one ticket then it will be worth the money. Ticket cost may...

Who makes the best radar detector?

When I get to areas where laser is used I slow down. Radar detectors are useless for laser. I don't drive in areas with laser too often. Around my area it's almost all radar usage, and based on what I found tonight they don't use instant-on. So it will be very helpful where I'm at now.
