    Holy crap check this out!!

So recently i've been thinking lifting the Commander after it's paid off. I've read A LOT about how great the QuadraDrive-II 4x4 system is.... but have never seen it in action before. Check out this video!! y1DG-P6oOGY

GMC Sierra All Terrain HD concept is ready for off-road action

Another concept that'll never come close to fruition... what's the point? :dunno:

    Need opinions

IIRC, the hybrid model only gets around 2mpg better than the 4.8.... combine that with the increased cost for a battery and decreased payload, I wouldn't bother.

    I.F.S. vs. S.A.

IMO, if he needs his SAS truck aligned all the time, that tells me its a hackjob install.

    So, I test drove a 2011 today

Yeah both systems work in a similar fashion with hydraulic lifters that are deactivated via pressure reduction. I haven't held both parts in my hand but it seems as though the MDS design is a bit more robust and reliable than the GM design. (And it shows on the forums as well, love it or hate...

EcoBoost Torture Test - Nascar Track Testing

You can't just look at the rear gear and say its not fair... the 6L80E more than makes up for the 3.42 ratio Also.... this is a TRUCK comparison. If the 3.5L ecoboost is going to be he main production truck for Ford and the 5.3L 6spd 3.42 is going to remain the main truck for GM then the...

    So, I test drove a 2011 today

That's like saying an I6 is the same thing as a V6 because they're both 6 cylinder engines. They're completely different systems... so just because someone may have an issue with the 3.8L V6 doesn't mean they wouldn't like the 4.0L I6. See what i mean :D2

    So, I test drove a 2011 today

    My comments still stand.... 1) I wouldn't buy a gmt900 4.8L with the 4spd 2) can't go wrong with a 5.7L hemi

Not worth it. A strongly built 5.3L will only get you to stock 6.0L power and will cost just as much to do. Might as swap in a 6.0 and leave yourself room for improvement.

Well the things you want to do add up to a lot less $$$ than a new truck would be. So do them and roll with it.

depends on what you mean by "badass"... but with 184k i'd go with a new truck.

What type of work do you do in your shop?

My vote was cars.... but its a bit of everything. Cars motorcycles bicycles Lawn mowers & other lawn equipment My buddy down the street has the metal shop with the lathe, mill, drill press etc. We get along quite well. :)

    I.F.S. vs. S.A.

A SAS is definitely more work than Just bolting on a huge drop crossmember.... so yeah, its more complicated "to do". But once installed its a much simpler and more robust system.

Anyone have an 09 Ram 1500 with 4" suspension?

There's just something about the Gen3 trucks i dont like :dunno: ... has something to do with the hood/fenders/grill and how they mesh together. The 09+ flows a lot better... i think it looks cleaner or something.

Anyone have an 09 Ram 1500 with 4" suspension?

Found another one... 2.5" leveling kit and 35s. Said he had to trim though.... backspace looks pretty small on those wheels based on how far they look like they stick out. So since I changed my mind... can a mod change the title to 09+ Ram 2500s?
