Mine, fully loaded Limited with the 5.7L Hemi, backup camera, NAV, every option except the child entertainment center went for $24k out the door as a certified pre-owned vehicle with only 21,000 miles on it.
Usually there's not enough traction with just one tire to maneuver a vehicle up an incline like that (or you'll snap an axle trying to lift the entire weight of the truck up a steep incline through only one shaft). Offroad it surely wouldn't go anywhere.
And you know how many people nearly shit themselves after i told them it was a body lift and they thought i was lying?
When done right, there's NOTHING wrong with a body lift on these newer trucks.
I'll admit though, i wouldn't body lift a GMT400 or a HD model just because they do...
I had a sweet lineup those days... my lifted 05 silverado, a 2000 XJ with budget boost, and the subaru.
The XJ was sold because we didn't "need" a 3rd vehicle but we kinda needed a new roof. Then the Silverado went for the Denali. Then the Subaru went for the Commander. Then the denali...
Bought this, it was going to be our "family car" and we were so close to having it paid off. BUT, the infant child seat rendered the front passenger seat useless... so the car was going to be completely useless when our 2nd kid comes along. We traded this in to get the 07 Commander (now we can...
Don't waste your money on the PA gap guards. For less than 1/4 their price you can have much better quality and custom fit gap guards. Give me a minute, i'll find the part numbers of the materials to order.
Oh yeah they're very capable vehicles. I've been looking at a bunch of threads and videos.
Just saying that ill put my money on a system that has fully locked front & rear axles like the QD2 shown in that video.
I've seen videos with the QT2 (commander) and the CT2 (Liberty) .... they...
The 2011 Grand Cherokee has air suspension with the QD-II? You sure that's not a separate option?
And the QT-II is very capable too. There was a video i found on youtube... although it wasn't as extreme as the one I posted here, the jeep made it up one hell of an obstacle.
Difference...
I wonder if during the development of this concept one of the engineers said "Son of a bitch! It's a pain in the ass to fit bigger tires in these tiny square wheel wells. WTF were we thinking!"
I couldn't be happier with the Commander though... i don't think there's another SUV on the market that even comes close to its capabilities (except for the Land Rovers which use a very similar 4wd system).
I knew what it was capable of "on paper". But to actually see it in action like that...
I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a direct injection version of the pentastar V6 in the next 5-6 years.
Someday down the road, when our infants are little kids, we'd like to change up the Liberty for a 4 door wrangler (much more fun for beach trips and stuff). There's already rumors of...
Here's one with the 4" superlift and disconnected sway bars. I'd like to see this guy do what that silver jeep did in the video.... i bet it'd look badass
The Liberty only has the Command Trac-II system.... it's not anywhere in the ballpark of the Qudra Trac-II that's in the Commander.
The QD system uses brake pressure to stop the wheels from spinning as they lose traction and has automatic electronically controlled lockers in both front and...
There were a few close calls there.
Pretty damn impressive though! And it seems like that guy definitely knew what he was doing.... he hit the gas at the right time and turned the wheel the right way when it needed to be turned. Very good demonstration.
