Are you attached to your truck?

Now that I have another truck, I can definitely say that my 1995 falls into the 4th category, but my Avalanche would probably be gone if the right deal came along.

Thanks a lot man! There was another link to the Chilton Library posted in the Helpful Automotive Links thread, but they changed the password apparently.

How to replace the GMT800 Intermediate Steering Shaft (ISS)

Just got this done on the Avalanche this morning. No more clunks and vibration! Like Jarrod said, you'll have to remove the gas pedal on the [I guess] 03+ trucks. You have to remove the two 10mm bolts holding the gas pedal assembly (disconnect the wiring harness by pulling the red tab out)...

Belltech 6400 2" Drop Shackles going on - need tips

Good news. I got'r'done in just under two hours, and probably 1/3 of that was spent messing around. I highly suggest you have someone help unload the springs for you while you pull out the shackle bolts. Other than that, it's a fairly easy job.

Just a guess, but I would say you have the wrong kit. Got a link to the CAI you bought?

Belltech 6400 2" Drop Shackles going on - need tips

So yeah, I'm hoping my 95 will finally be level by the end of tomorrow (er... today). The instructions seem straight-forward and simple enough, but considering I've never messed with leaf springs before, is this something I can do by myself, or should I wait until I get a friend to help me out...

Schram Auto Parts on GM-Trucks is selling them pretty cheap right now, they just have to be programmed.

Sharp truck, Riggs! A Denali cluster might match those blue LEDs well.

    Elliott's 1999 Silverado Z71

I'm glad you're thinking about getting rid of those chrome fender flares, I would be removing those right now if I were you. If you want to keep the Z71 decals, look for the Z71 decals used on the GMT800 Avalanches. http://i1041.photobucket.com/albums/b419/thunderstruck95/06Avalanche/13Z71.jpg

    GMT800: "SERVICE 4WD" message, unreponsive 2WD button

Odds are you are right about the encoder sensor, Jarrod. There is lots of talk on several forums about the sensor showing wear and getting gummed up with oil.

    GMT800: "SERVICE 4WD" message, unreponsive 2WD button

Hey guys, I'm hoping someone here can shed some light on my 4WD issue. The other day while I was leaving my farm, I put my Avalanche into 4HI to make it sure it was still working. It engaged 4HI without a problem, but near the end of the driveway I got a "SERVICE 4WD" message on the DIC. I tried...

What did you do to your truck today?

Idle Air Control Valve? That caused my idle to be around 1400rpm when the engine was cold and idle down slowly when it stuck on the 95.

Swapping my clock for a tach… questions??????

What diameter is that cutout? It looks like a 3-3/8" would fit. An Autometer Sport Comp or VDO Cockpit tach would look right at home with those other gauges.

What did you do to your truck today?

Drove the Avalanche to meet J-Rod. Ordered drop shackles and sway bar bushings for the 95.
