Late post.... didn't see the update... sorry

Well seeing as how I don't even have a 2500, I guess I'm SOL. Unless you can reprogram it (or rewire??) Seems like too much trouble than what its worth. Thanks anyways guys!

Maybe this will clear up some confusion:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/99-0...ptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories

"Regardless of what you may have been told or read 1999 is different than the 2000 - 2002 clusters. The 1999 cluster has different software for the air bag function. Installing the wrong cluster will cause the air bag light not to function correctly."

"If your cluster does not have a transmission temperature gauge you can install a cluster with this option and it will function perfect. All the above trucks & SUV's are pre-wired from the factory for this feature."

Looks like all you need is someone who can reprogram it for a 99 model.

What I meant was that the cluster from a 99 2500 Light Duty would POSSIBLY be plug and play in your 1500. I was not trying to say you need a 2500 for it to work. Those trucks (2500 LD) weren't real plentiful though, so I would think finding the cluster from one might be tough.

Oh, my bad. Misinterpreted, that actually might be a better route. I'm still researching and keeping my eye open for now...
