What is a good tire cleaner?

I'm sure Jarrod will send you some APC. Until I tried it, I always thought Simple Green or Purple Power worked the best. APC blows them both away. The stuff is amazing. It can clean just about anything, and its probably the strongest degreaser I have ever used. I have even used it to clean my...

    Fiberglass help!!!

No fiberglass experience here, but I would wait until its fully cured to go over it with another coat. :dunno: And maybe a 3rd coat if all the cloth isn't rock hard after the 2nd coat.

    1999 GMC Speedometer?

I been busy. I do have an actual job. Plus on my days off I have been working on my Father in law's rental property. The previous tenants destroyed the place. And to answer your question Jarrod, no the 99-02 clusters don't have stepper motors like the 03 ones. But I do have a working...

High-Mileage Cars: Is 200,000 the new normal?

I'm not to 200k yet, but I will get there sooner or later, because I ain't trading or selling my Burn any time soon. Its paid for, it runs great, and I just had the transmission rebuilt. :D

Grand National, GNX and T-Type are returning to Buick

Needs to be RWD AND be a 2 door to be worthy of the Grand National and GNX nameplates.

The TMC Pics of any interesting vehicle thread - No rOoStErs Allowed

:withstupid: I am all for shaving the keyholes though. Handles with no keyhole looks really clean. I shaved the door keyholes and trunk lock but kept the door handles on my G-body Cutlass I used to have.

Gave My Tranny A Treat Today (pic Heavy)

I doubt the transmission shop put Dexron 6 in my transmission when they rebuilt it a few weeks ago. I will have to flush it and fill it with Dexron 6 in a few months or I may just use Amsoil this time. It looks like the Amsoil is actually cheaper than the Dexron 6.

    Nissan Xterra P0430

On mine, I kept getting a "Catalyst Efficiency " code popping up. Even after clearing it, it kept coming back. From searching Google and reading many forums, and a few TSB's, the only thing that really causes that code is a bad cat. And if ignored, the bad cat can lead to catastrophic engine...

Gave My Tranny A Treat Today (pic Heavy)

When I flushed mine I replaced all the fluid with Dexron 6. Its a far superior fluid to Dexron 3, and its backwards compatible meaning it can replace Dexron 3. All the oil companies have even stopped making Dexron 3, they only make Dexron 6 now. As I'm sure you might have seen when shopping for...

    Nissan Xterra P0430

The pre-cat (the first catalytic converter) on my Altima went bad about a year ago. Everything I read about all over the net says its actually very common for them to fail on the 2.5 Altimas. If its not replaced quickly, debris from the catalyst can be sucked back into the engine and end up...

What Did You Do To Your Truck Today? v2.0

Found a half eaten cheeseburger that one of my kids stuffed into the pocket on the back of my seat. They also dumped Doritos all in there. Still trying to figure out how to get the rest out that the vacuum won't reach. Any ideas? :dunno:

I agree with Matt. And the hood damage looks very minor and can be repaired easily. Who was determined at fault? :dunno:

This Is The World’s Worst Custom Camaro ZL1

I'd roll it. But only if I had a set of stock wheels to put on it, and enough plasti-dip to spray the whole car black. :D

    Easy kayak rack

That rack came out pretty good. That's one of the few benefits a Suburban has over a truck. I can strap a 12 foot ladder to my roof rack in seconds. :D My father in law was trying to figure out how to get his extension ladder to the deer lease without my 14 foot trailer (because I sold...

    Which multimeter should I get?

I have basically the same one. I paid like $20 for it years ago. It's at least 7 years old, possibly older.:dunno: I also have a cheap harbor freight one that was given to me as a gift, but the leads on it are really flimsy so I only use it if my Craftsman isn't handy and I just don't feel like...

    Tahoe Trade in questions.

I'd get a bumper from a junkyard for under $200 and just swap it out. One from a 99-02 Silverado will fit, as well as a 00-06 Tahoe or Burban. Did you ever get the cluster fixed? :dunno: If not, send it to me and I'll go ahead and fix it for you. Like I said, I have a few used stepper...

I'll sell you mine for 10k. :D 130k miles and it has a freshly rebuilt transmission.

    Thinking of a Suburban....

That 05 is clean. But its way overpriced. At least in my area it would be. Down here that 05 would fetch no more than 10k at the most.
