Fiberglass help!!!

OK.... so im trying to save my box that got water damage and seperated on the back due to my 3rd brake light leaking.. its fixed now.. but the box is damaged.. ive put screws in it... sealed the outside seems.. and now fiberglassing the inside of the box..

Last night was in the mid 60's.. and apparently I didnt add enough hardner because it;s still tacky now over 14 hours later.. i have it out in the sun right now while im at the office working... but my question is.. should I mix up a hot batch of resin and go back over?

The fiber cloth doesnt look very "wet" and I thought i put alot on last night.

I am no expert at this.. first time doing so.... lol.

Could have been old resin too. Might try a halogen lamp or heat gun to see if that'll get it to dry. If not you can use acetone to dissolve the uncured resin and apply another coat.

Yeah I used a heat gun for 10 mins last night on it... I just didnt want it to get too hot and bubble.

With the acetone do you just pour it on lightly or use a brush also?

Ok cool. it seems to be drying now.. but the cloth looks dry. Should I just add more over top? Like a hot batch to penetrate the cloth.

No fiberglass experience here, but I would wait until its fully cured to go over it with another coat. And maybe a 3rd coat if all the cloth isn't rock hard after the 2nd coat.

I'd hold off on other coats until you get down to dry stuff. No matter what is, the last coat is only as good as the first.

True. Yeah i just looked at it.. its looking pretty dry.. but some of the fabric has come up.. guess imma make another small batch and mix it hotter to hit those spots.

It might be a little late for this but fiberglass on the inside would be the most difficult way for drying.

Meh personally would have ripped off the carpet and fiberglassed the exterior. I did that when I was 18 and sanded it down smooth. I painted it to match my car and cleared. Best sounding box I ever heard. And then I sold it....
