Did you ever get this fixed Dave? What did it end up being? I'm sure it's electrical and should have been a relatively easy fix. Just a matter of tracking it down. I could even be the button in the end of the shift stick. Should only be one OD solenoid.

Did you ever get these installed??? For the money they're not bad at all. You made the right choice to go with the 8000 series in my opinion. I prefer full sweep gauges anytime I have a choice. They tend to be more accurate too since they are on a bigger scale.

Hey Mark, So I only missed your thread by a couple months over a year, but.... You're correct, it's a 3.07 Ratio and is a 12 bolt. The KAC code means that axle came from a C10 1974-77 & 1979 3.07 non-locking. So the code says it's an open differential, and could have been from a 74, 75,76, 77...

So then how will you access the front 5 feet? I assume reach over? And you're talking about a 6 inch lift and tire? You're going to need an 8 foot step ladder to be able to get access. :dunno:

I've never heard such a thing. Unless you're talking about the OLDER 350 starters. Alot of guys get this newer gear reducted started so they have a bit more cranking power when the motor is hotter from advanced timing, and the smaller starter also will allow more air around it, so I'm not sure...

Noone like the location of these starters. A sorta fix for that issue, get a starter and solenoid off of a 96 or newer 350 from the DIY salvage yards. They are high torque, pull less juice, have more power and are about 30% smaller giving you more room and getting the solenoid away from the...
