that 02 is a nice ride, but is a tahoe to small? Fits my family of 4 nicely, and can haul 7 easily with a little bit of luggage...

Yeah a Tahoe is too small for what im looking for. My Commander has adequate cargo space now and can even seat 7 (though theres no interior cargo room when the 3rd row is up). Our trip to OBX this year I had luggage on the roof rack, a huge cooler on a hitch carrier and the interior packed with beer/food/etc.

So while its sufficient, im looking to expand capability. Also thinking about a 3rd kid so I want to have enough space if we go that route.

This is in response to the original post as I have not read all of the replies. I've got 3 kids and have had our '07 Suburban for 2 1/2 years now and love it. Honestly, we couldn't have anything smaller because we like to take road trips from time to time and when you start hauling around things like strollers, pack-n-plays, coolers and all that you need the cargo space!! It beats a minivan on multiple levels but FAR exceeds it with regards to room for people and other stuff. I'd say find a nice, solid one and go for it!

I like the directv dish that goes with the camper.

My buddy has one of the ones that you just plug in and it does the rest. BFA when we're out in his RV at football games.

Im not worried about maintenance in the slightest. Im an ex ASE tech and know what im looking for in a vehicle. I've be inside & out just about every truck & minivan on the road.

For the age and price i'm looking at, the truck will have twice the mileage and cost more; just an FYI. But again, even a truck with ~80k miles isn't a concern for me.

...But you have to ask yourself, what is your time worth? Do you want to spend your spare time maintaining a throwaway shitbox minivan constantly??? :dunno:

My vote is for an AWD Astrovan. Real van, not really a "minivan" plenty of room, oh... it doesnt have two sliding doors :ohnoes: Drives great, tows great, nice looking, cheap to maintain, proven platform...
